Gentle Reminder

Me Ra Koh

The weekend was AMAZING with the Seattle Workshop ladies…amazing in a thousand different ways. I feel tired and incredibly refreshed all at once. We had so much fun doing the workshop in our hometown that Brian and I were tossing the idea of doing another Seattle Women’s Photography Workshop in August. For those of you have yet to attend a workshop, I’d love to know what you think about that idea. (If your on the East Coast, keep reading down to the “p.s.”. I want to hear your thoughts too!)

Part of holding a workshop is needing to make the time to rejuvenate. For the sake of taking that time, I’m going to make today’s blog post quick. Call it a “Gentle but Quick Reminder”.

If you haven’t registered for the session I’m doing this Thursday’s morning…Don’t wait another second! 🙂 Sony invited me to be the Keynote Speaker for PDN’s Virtual Trade Show. It’s a HUGE honor! And I would love to have you all there! The title of my talk is “Techniques to Capturing Your Summer Memories.” Brian and I worked on this talk together throughout last week, and I’m so excited to present it to all of you.

FYI: the event is free. Hello?! Did you say free? Why yes, I actually did say free…and filled with tons of great information too!

For details on how to register, CLICK HERE or read this post from last week that has all the juicy back story. 🙂

xoxo, Me Ra

p.s. Post a comment and tell us your thoughts about a Summer Seattle Photography Workshop! (and if you are an East Coast lady, where would you like us to consider coming in the Fall?)

    come to Philadelphia…great city…great cheesesteaks!

  2. Colleen says:

come to Columbus, Ohio PLEEEEEAAAASSSSEEEEEE!!!! Fun city, good folks, lots of picture takin’ moms here!!!

  3. Stacey R. says:

As an east-coaster (who loves Seattle, but can’t make it that far)…my pick is the Outer Banks of North Carolina. but, because it’s not easy traveling access, I vote for Philly too!

  4. Allison G. says:

Ooohhhh!!! Washington DC!!!!! (maybe an advanced workshop 🙂 )

You could bring the kids and stay extra days to check out the museums and such. There’s history at every turn… it’s a homeschoolin’ mama’s dream. 🙂 Tell Pascaline that they have the First Ladies’ dresses here and George Washington’s Home and a big museum full of amazing art. And tell Blaze that there are museums full of dinosaur bones and space ships… they’ll start packing their bags! 🙂

  5. CA says:

I could vote for DC as well, but being selfish I will add: Charlotte, NC; Atlanta; and yes for the Outer Banks too!

I am so excited at just the thought of you coming closer!!!

  6. I put this on your facebook one day too Me Ra but Minneapolis would be fabulous. Minneapolis is a main stay for arts and entertainment as well as fantastic historic buildings. We have some fabulous grain mill buildings that are amazing to shoot at as well as the awesome Mississippi river. Minneapolis would be a perfect Urban Workshop location in the fall! Please come! (Perfect middle of the county location too for visitors)

I wanna hear from the other fabulous Minnesota ladies. Show the state some love and convince Me Ra and Brian to come hang with us!

  7. Jen says:

Chicago – I’d drop everything on a dime to attend your workshop in Chicago (I understand that it would be the second time in the windy city)! For those of us who are in the midwest, we’d so appreciate having you! 🙂

    I’m also down for Minneapolis!

  8. michelle s. says:

As a mom of school agers I think Summer is an awesome time to do a workshop. Kid’s schedules aren’t nearly as insane and for me it would be easier to break away from the family for a weekend.

That being said… it’s not in my budget this summer so you can’t count on me as an attender. But if I had the $ summer would be a GREAT time for me to go to a workshop. 🙂

I’m finishing up a 12 week class right now and having it during the last month of school is a nightmare in terms of how packed my schedule is.

    Just my two cents. 🙂

p.s. I’m located in Spokane, WA.

  9. Jill says:

Would love to see you come somewhere down south – but I’m also willing to travel to get a chance to attend your workshop! Asheville, NC is an awesome location…..very fun, artsy, and funky at the same time! Charlotte or ATL would be great too! I’m being selfish by picking areas that are close to me!!!!

  10. Kelly N says:

I’d totally love a workshop in DC, Philly or the Outer Banks! And I second Allison’s comments on homeschooling – there are so many amazing museums here in DC – You can see Ruby Slippers, and the Space Shuttle all in the same day!

  11. shawna says:

august sounds fun! we’ll have to see how my husband’s new job goes, whether we can scrape together enough money, though.

  12. Me Ra Koh says:

Oh boy, your not going to make it easy on us to choose an East Coast city are you! Maybe we’ll need to choose two. 🙂

  13. Christine says:

I love Seattle any time of year, but August is fabulous! I so wanted to come to your last workshop, but couldn’t make my work schedule work with the kids school schedule and hubby’s work schedule. I was so bummed. August just might work. However, since moving to the Twin Cities last July from Seattle, I vote for the middle destination of Minneapolis too. It really is a pretty cool urban gem.

  14. Erika says:

Thx for the reminder! Signed up yesterday and passed it along on Twitter! 🙂 Looking forward to seeing how the virtual conference goes!

  15. Christina says:

I am feeling a little left out here in the west coast, San Diego….:)

  16. Jo LeFlufy says:

I’d like you to consider coming to Vancouver so we Canadians can have a little piece of your photographic skills cake without having to spend a fortune to attend one of your workshops!!!

  17. Kelli says:

Mera….there needs to be another Advanced Workshop!! Maybe do two in the east….one beginner and one advanced. All us ladies who have taken your workshop need to get in on the advanced!!!

  18. Beth says:

again, i vote OHIO!! or southern Michigan, or eastern Indiana. can u tell i live in Northwest Ohio?! I would be willing to travel anywhere in Ohio for a beginner’s workshop…plus…us Buckeye mom’s are AWESOME! yeah, that’s right…AWESOME…in all caps!

  19. jenn says:

    oh come on
    no one for Boston?
    or the cape?
that is where I am voting for! 🙂
It is gorgeous in the fall!

  20. Christie says:

Oh! I am so excited you asked! A beginner workshop in DC would be a dream come true!!!!!! I will keep my fingers (and toes!) crossed!

  21. Cara says:

OHHHHH could you come to New York???? That would be incredible!!!!! But as some of your other posters have said, DC would be good too!!!!!

  22. Alaina says:

SAVANNAH, GEORGIA!!!!!!! It is a fabulous city! If not, then just come to the East Coast!

  23. Colleen says:

DC!!! And Old Town Alexandria (in VA) would be a BEAUTIFUL place as well – just across the river!!! PLEASE come!!! :o)

  24. PLEASEEEEEE come to FLORIDA!!!! Jacksonville, or Orlando?????

Florida is GREAT in the fall! hint! hint!!!! 🙂

  25. Alexandra says:

please please please come the NYC area!!! I live in Southampton, but will make the trip in- heck I’ll go to boston or d.c.!

  26. Stepheni says:

I would love for you to have another advanced workshop… Seattle would just be the icing on the cake!!

  27. Aileen says:

I would LOVE DC b/c then I wouldn’t have to travel! However, I’m a Seattle transplant, so if you do Seattle again, I’m going to try to make it work with our frequent flier miles. I would LOVE to head back to Seattle as I haven’t been back since ’97.

Ideally for me, you would do a beginner’s workshop here in DC soon (but not too soon that I can’t afford it!), and then an advanced workshop in Seattle that I can attend in 2010!!

Not too picky there, am I?!

For now I say, DC, DC, DC!!

  28. Michelle says:

AW MAN! I am going to be in a car driving for a LONG time and will miss this trade show. BOOHOO!

  29. I’m coming up there the weekend of the 14th of August for my cousin’s wedding – I would gladly stick around for a workshop!!! 🙂 honestly anytime this summer I would fly up – I’ve saved up money and am hopefully getting more for graduation this weekend so count me in!!! anywhere and I’m there. 🙂

  30. Stefanie says:

I would love another Seattle workshop! Are you thinking of one for 2010 at all? I am getting married this year and just can’t eak out the money for a workshop that I so want to go to.

  31. Amanda says:

I vote for NYC area as well…I am willing to drive a ways too tho! Oh I would LOVE it for out to come somewhere out here! LOVE LOVE LOVE it! ; ) And thank you so much for this post on low light!

  32. Amanda says:

    oops! sorry for the typos!

  33. DC!!! It’s easily accessible from everywhere on the east coast both north and south. There are lots of beautiful places to photograph like Old Town Alexandria. And it’s worth bringing the whole family to! Plus I can get you intomy Crossfir gym for a free workout while you’re here! 😉

  34. DawnS says:

Another vote for DC from an East Coast lady! I’d be there in a heartbeat!!!

  35. Lucie says:

Please come to Boston! There’s even a song about that! We’d love to have you! It’s a great town to shoot in too!!

  36. KimN says:

I live in CT, and would love if you came somewhere within a two hour drive!! That leaves CT, NY, MA, NJ but I would probably try to go even if you were further!

  37. Agnes says:

I just discovered you Me Ra. You’re so gentle with your teaching! I wasn’t sure if I would “get it” as far as learning photography, but your DVDs are so nice and did not scare me off! I would love to attend a workshop in the WestCoast. I live California but would not mind going to Seattle.
    Thanks!

  38. incredible Facebook . com certainly is the most impressive online social networking around, some people explained if it was a region it is going to be the third greatest country around the the world. This can be incredible. thank you for the wonderful post.
