Adobe is one of our big SOAR! Scholarship Partners.  We are so thankful to have their constant support for empowering women in photography.  So when they called to see if I could do an interview for them, I was totally honored!

Photoshop.com is one of their educational resources for photographers of all levels with videos for Lightroom, tutorials to editing images, etc.  A part of this site is also dedicated to keeping you inspired!  This section is called “Spotlights: Get Inspired by the Innovators”.

This was a wonderful interview, and I LOVED some of the questions they asked like; What Piece of Equipment Can’t I Live Without and Why, What’s the Best Advice I Ever Received, How Do I See My Career and Business Evolving Over the Next Five Years and Who Inspires Me as a Photographer?  (Can you guess the answer to the last one?  🙂  That was my FAVORITE question!)  Those are just a few of the questions you’ll find in this interview!

Beautiful interview! I loved the line, “We’re not selling photos to judges; we’re creating memories for real people.” So true! I also laughed when I read, “They don’t know the rules, so they break them with freedom and delight,” when you were discussing how moms inspire you. Haha… I’m sure I’ve broke so many rules (I’m blushing with a little embarrassment, but since I don’t know what rules I’m breaking, I can’t care too much lol).

    That’s right BreAnna!

My eyes totally lit up when I read that your big goal you’re working towards is to have your own TV show! That would be amazing! Congrats on all of your success!

  4. Natalie Johnson says:

Great interview! I still get goosebumps every time I hear the story of the mama and the baby in the bathtub, I know those photos must be very special to her. I agree with BreAnna above that I love the line about not selling to judges but to real people. I also appreciate the advice to focus, that has been my goal lately is to really find who I am and what I love as an artist. What a fabulous platform you have to share your heart for other women. The thing I love about the community that has been built here is we are all rooting for one another. Can’t wait for that TV show, you had better be thinking of a name to call it! “The Mera Koh Show” and it rhymes too:)

Loved the interview MeRa… eeekkk a TV show, that would be awesome!! I’d watch every episode!! I second Natalie’s comment about the community, it’s so BANG on… I too love that we are all rooting for one another. Not only are you inspiring women to follow their dreams but you are providing a support network of amazing people as well!
    Kudos,
    Jamie

Thanks so much ladies for your comments! I just LOVED doing this interview. Being able to share about moms more, and how so many of you inspire me, was something I don’t always get invited to talk about. So it made this interview extra special for me. And yes, what an amazing community we’re growing together. Just last night, I was on the SOARORITY forum for the Ask&Learn, and I saw how many women were giving photo critiques and feedback to each other. I almost cried b/c you are making that forum your own, and it’s an amazing space of support. It’s such a honor to know all of you whether we’ve met at a CONFIDENCE Workshop or just through this blog. I appreciate you all so much. And YEAH DENISE!! You go girl!! It is time for you to fly!!!

    xoxo,
    m

Love the interview!!! I first discovered your blog through a friend who lent me your DVDS two summers ago. You have inspired me to really capture my kids… who they are and what they love. I will always be so thankful for your passion in teaching moms how to tell the story of their kids!

  12. Jeff Jochum says:

Me Ra, I couldn’t be more proud of you if you were my personal family (that’s actually how I think of you, anyway). And, I’m humbled to know that you feel I played a role in your crazy success. U deserve it all. I. Love. You. 🙂

    Jeff
