March is the beginning of WONDERFUL events on the SOARORITY forum!! We have been working on ideas for almost a year, and we are launching TODAY!
Starting this month on the forum, there will be a weekly event to inspire you, empower you and get your creative juices flowing!! Let’s start with Week 1!
Week 1–Ask and Learn with a Professional Photographer! / Thurs. 5-7pm PST
Ask and Learn with a Professional Photographer is a format that I LOVE on the Pictage Forums! For two hours, you get to ask a Pro Photographer anything you want by simply posting a question in the thread. I can’t tell you how much I learned from Ask and Learns when I was first starting out. I knew we had to bring this type of event to SOARORITY’s forum too. Every first week of the month, we will bring you a Pro who is ready to pour out as many answers as possible in two hours!
We are kicking our first Ask and Learn off with the amazing Sara France!!
Sara has been a dear friend for years. She is a San Diego based wedding/portrait photographer, but she shoots all over the world. She is sponsored by Apple, and her work has been published in endless magazines. She is also the designer and owner of the GoBee bags! Such a BRILLIANT, chic idea! But what I love most about Sara is her heart. She’s always had a BIG heart to help new photographers, and I can’t imagine a better pro photographer to kick us off!
Tonight from 5-7pm PST, Sara will be on the forum to answer any of your questions about portrait and wedding photography. At 5pm the thread will open on the forum. We’ll introduce Sara to you, and you can start posting your questions on THIS THREAD. Sara will basically refresh her screen like a mad woman and answer as many questions as possible in the two hours. At 7pm, Ask and Learn will end, but the thread of all her rich answers will always be on the forum for you to come back to! (Ask her about using Video Lights when it gets to dark! She did a presentation on this at the SONY booth at WPPI, and it was so smart, but totally easy and awesome!)

I appreciate that session so much! I’m sure the readers will learn a lot just reading through. Some of my questions were answered doing just that. And, I was thrilled when those dark gloomy thoughts of ?? were changed into thoughts of !! Yay!
Thank you to everyone who set this up, and Sara for answering my questions as I was wreathing on the floor in anguish at 9:00pm as I was the next up! My husband laughed like, “of course, you were right there, and it’s ov-ah!” he’s crackin’ up and then BAM! Your answer came back after it was over. So I did my happy dance. Well, not really in person, I hate to dance. More like in my mind and a “back at’cha” to my husband!

Isn’t it interesting to have a specialist on a subject each week, who we can jettison with all our questions, however, stupid they may be. I am sure that the learning curve will be fast and furious I wish you all the best. Meanwhile, I am Leigh from Wedding Video Brisbane and am so enchanted with your idea, that I may think of starting one for the benefit of my clients here.
