Like I mentioned on Thursday, on Day 2 we hit the financial side of running a successful business.  Brian is a spreadsheet MASTER!  🙂  We find that many small business owners don’t know how to project their financials or balance the profit and loss of their work so their dream can continue to grow.  Brian and I are so excited to help these fourteen women grow in their confidence and skills with the financial component of having a sustainable business that blesses you and your family.

As exciting as numbers and spreadsheets can be to me, the pretty new instruments of what our attendees are going to get is even MORE exciting!!  🙂  This is the piece that I’ve been bursting at the seams to tell, or rather SHOW, all of you!!!

Starting in November, we are going to do a soft launch of our new CONFIDENCE series of workshops!  Instead of only having the option of taking the weekend experience with me and Brian, you now have THREE options!

For the beginner, who loves to take photos but doesn’t own a DSLR, can I just say I LOVE you!!!  I love your enthusiasm, I love your gusto, I LOVE that you don’t let your tool for capturing photos limit you.  I’ve been wanting to have a workshop for you forever!  A workshop that would infuse your creative juices without overwhelming you with technical jargon.  The BUDDING CONFIDENCE Workshop is created for YOU!  This is a half day workshop with one of our fourteen teachers, and the group is limited to five students.  Super small group, for SUPER FUN experience!  It will be very hands on–including a photo walk, and you can bring your point-and-shoot or even your smartphone.  Either way, you will walk away having refreshed by having fed your creative spirit!!

Here comes the beautiful new instrument!  Your Budding Workshop will provide you with a beautiful, inspiring 40 plus page workbook that covers

everything you are learning in that four hours with creative photo prompts, fill in the blanks and MORE!  Forty Plus pages!!  So you can take it all with you, not worry about missing notes, and even have fun exercises to try later with your kids!!

For the mom who wants to keep building her confidence and owns a DSLR or is an aspiring photographer, but has technical holes on how to use that big camera, our GROWING CONFIDENCE Workshop is for you!  This is a full day workshop that covers what I have referred to for years as the magical three; ISO, Aperture and Shutter Speed.  There is a hands-on photo shoot, lots of creative-inspiring teaching on how to tell a story with photos, how to compose a photo, and more.  These workshops will be small, limited to ten students so you gleam from each other and have lots of opportunity to get one-on-one help from your teacher!

Your Growing Workshop will also provide you with a beautiful, packed full, 50 plus page workbook that has exercises, creative prompts, fill in the blanks for content you are covering throughout the day, and more!

Both of these gorgeous workbooks (think Anthropolgie meets Papaya Art…can you tell I’m excited about them!!!) are journal size.  There is a spot to write your name in the front to make it your own and lots of fill in the blanks and creative photo based exercises.

It’s small enough to fit in your purse as a quick reference when you are on the go.  And it’s something that your girlfriend’s will want to borrow, but you won’t want to risk lending it out when you see it!  🙂

The third CONFIDENCE workshop is the weekend experience that Brian and I have done the last five years.  We plan to make this workshop available two times a year, maybe three if we can make it happen.  Attendees will receive both the Budding and Growing Workbooks, plus all the other topics that a weekend allows us time to cover!

I can’t express in words how THRILLED I am about this new adventure for our brand and business.  Now when moms see me on TV, they have THREE options of how to find a mentor to help them grow their creative confidence with a camera.    While being the photo expert for The Nate Berkus Show, I would receive emails from moms who wanted to take our workshop, wanted hands-on help and inspiration, but couldn’t afford the cost of our weekend workshop or having someone care for their kids.  Now we have three options that will be affordable, a perfect Christmas gift even!, and not always require you to travel.  Our fourteen teachers are all over the country!  I’m excited for you to find one near you.

Tomorrow I’ll be introducing you to our teachers, their workshops and dates, and our new store website!  Over a year’s worth of work is coming together for all of you and us!  I couldn’t be more excited!!!  Our “official launch” of these workshops is January, but some of our ladies are to excited to wait!  Soft launch begins tomorrow!!!  Get ready!!  YEAH!!!
